Donna has grown up on the stage! It started with dancing, there was never a doubt that Donna would learn to dance as her mom who was a dancer took her along to classes at the age of three.
She has gone on to teach Tap, Musical Theatre and Jazz to all ages and also choreographed many local theatre productions. Donna loves a challenge and likes to come out of her comfort zone, she was involved in a television series called “The Secret life of the Ballroom” where she had a week to learn dance before going off and competing around the country.
Dancing and singing are her passions, and she believes no matter what your ability if you love doing something, nothing should stop you. If singing releases endorphins that boost your mood and make you feel good about yourself, it should be accessible for all. Donna particularly enjoys working with children, developing their confidence and giving them the chance to shine.
Her daughter Beth has been a member of Pop Voices for many years, and finally, when she had room in her busy schedule, she joined herself. Pop Voices has allowed Donna to develop her singing ability and build her confidence to perform and she is a regular soloist with the choir.
Donna achieved Grade 5 in classical singing examinations with Trinity College in 2012 and is one-third of a vocal harmony group Boogaloo Babes with Anya and Sophia, performing gigs all year round.
Donna has run workshops for Pop Voices over the last few years combining her love of dance and singing into our ‘Get Your Groove On’ sessions and has regularly covered the youth groups on Anya’s behalf. Donna has also led Song Squad choir sessions in primary schools introducing young children to the joy and benefits of group singing. Donna is thrilled to be at the helm of the Solihull Pop Voices Youth group based at The Core Theatre.
